2020 - Movistar Team Maillot

Movistar Team
2020

The early months of the global health crisis completely overshadowed what was expected to be a transition year for the Movistar Team, with enormous changes and an influx of young stars taking over leading roles, with Marc Soler and Enric Mas at the fore. The Catalan claimed all two victories -Mallorca and Lekunberri- for the Telefónica-backed squad, which got back to the podium in the Tour and La Vuelta and had Enric, 5th overall at both, as its main reference, taking the baton from Alejandro Valverde -12th in Francia and 10th in Spain-. The success of track specialists Torres and Mora, the progression of WorldTour debutants Jacobs and Jorgenson, the good efforts from Samitier -13th in the Giro- and Carlos Verona’s impressive performances as one of the best domestiques in the world were other positive notes in the most difficult year for the Blues.
